Grandma G and I took Luke to the Busy Bee Barbershop in downtown Glen Ellyn for his first haircut today. Norm did the honors, and and he had to work with Edward Scissorhands'-like precision with the littly guy. Luke was very active as normal, but did he did really well considering it was right around his nap time. He also receieved a certificate commemorating the occasion.
We finally had a beautiful day today, and we made the most of it: a trip to the zoo, lunch with Aunt Sissy and finally a wagon ride around the neighborhood with Dad. Here are some pics we took in the front yard. Luke looks so cute in his adirondak chair. It's the perfect size for him now, although getting him to sit still is a bit of a challenge!
We went over to Great Grandma Vivian's house for Easter Sunday and Luke enjoyed his first Easter egg hunt in her back yard. As you can see, he made out pretty well between the candy and the presents. He's looking forward to spending Tuesday morning with Grandma G and Great Grandma Vivian.
Baseball has finally arrived and Lukudome is ready for his second season of Cubs baseball. He had a pretty good first season, but let's hope things end a little better this year...Go Cubs!
Two weeks after losing Grandpa G, we had another loss... Great Grandma Cushing passed away after suffering several years from Alzheimer's. We know that she is in a better place and finally at peace, but it was so hard to say goodbye. Needless to say, we are glad that March is behind us. Hopefully April will bring happier times.
