Pumpkins 2012

Tonight we carved our pumpkins, my favorite Halloween activity. One of my fondest memories from growing up was when my dad carved the *coolest* pumpkin that had "BOO!" spelled out in the mouth and stars for eyes. Back then there weren't so many unique pumpkin designs so this was totally over the top! Now each year I enjoy carving fun faces in our pumpkins. Luke was really into it this year too which made it even more fun. He designed the face on the 2nd pumpkin from the right and did a great job helping out.

Pumpkin Patch

Goey and KK visited the pumpkin patch with us last weekend and everyone had a great time!  Because of rain in the forecast, we had to stay close to home, so no Kuipers, but Johansen Farms in Bolingbrook worked out pretty well.  The boys had a great time picking out their pumpkins and loved feeding the animals in the petting zoo.

Leaf Party

Luke has been looking forward for WEEKS to playing in the leaves with Goey... Finally, today we had a beautiful and dry day so they were able to get out and have some fun. So cute!

Luke's Soccer Career

Luke had his last soccer game of the season on Saturday. And oh my what an interesting season it was! We are definitely thinking Luke might be more successful at individual sports - I don't think a game or practice went by without tears or pushing friends around! Weston made a run for the hills at one point.

Saturday Fun

Our weekends have been so busy lately, they seem to be flying by! Last Saturday we had Luke's soccer game, then headed over the to Glen Ellyn Fire Station for their Open House. We met the boys' friends Max and Eli and watched the Glenbard West Homecoming Parade. The boys LOVED it! Luke especially, gathered lots of candy from the kids in the parade, especially when he danced in the street as one of the floats went by. Hilarious! But I think the highlight of the day for Luke was when he got to spray the fire hose. For a child obsessed with water, hoses and sprinklers, this was pretty much a dream come true!
