Fun!
Summer is officially here at the German house... And it's already been so busy! Last weekend Daddy's participated in the Tough Mudder and SURVIVED thank goodness... We had a fun time with the friends of the other dads that were participating... We went to the park and then had lunch at Culver's. 10 boys and 1 girl at one table! Can you imagine? Later in the day we went to the Taste of Glen Ellyn Carnival and ran into a couple of girlfriends. They boys had their first double date in the cars.
This past weekend was Memorial Day. Unfortunately we weren't able to make it up to the cabin because of the weather, but we had a nice time at home. On Monday Luke and I participated in the Hoof it for Hepzibah races. It was a bit cool and rainy but we had a great time nonetheless. Looking forward to our Midwest tour next week to visit Goey, Nana and Poppa!

Last Day of Preschool
Last week was quite the week... Thursday was Luke's last day of preschool - forever! He is now proud to announce that he is on "Team Kindergarten". It's so hard to believe that he will be heading off to elementary school next year! For his last day at preschool, they held a Mother's Day Tea. It was the most adorable thing you've ever seen... When I walked in the door, the teacher gave me a paper corsage that Luke had made, then he walked over, took my hand, and lead me to our table which was set with a placemat that Luke had made for me. We sat down and Luke showed me the year book they had put together, as well as some Mother's Day crafts they had worked on. The boys then put on an "Extravaganza" (aka fashion show) with superhero costumes. Luke was Luke Skywalker, of course!
Later that evening we attended Kindergarten Round Up at Ben Franklin Elementary. Talk about a quick transition! Kevin and I listened to a presentation while Luke joined the other kids in the kindergarten room. When we went to pick him up, the teacher announced "Well, they certainly are ready!". That's for sure!

First TBall Game
Luke's baseball career started in earnest last Saturday with his first tball game! He loved every minute of it and hit 2 line drives right up the middle in his first two at bats! It was a very impressive performance and he seems to really enjoy it (as evidenced by the fact that he was in the backyard for about a half hour last night hitting a ball that I hung from the tree for him). Mommy recorded a couple of his hits, so we'll get that up on the blog soon, too.
Here are a few pictures of the boys getting ready for the big game.
Here's the team. You can't see it in the picture, but Luke is #10 (just like Daddy was) and was hitting cleanup in the first inning (just like Mommy). He's also using Daddy's old glove (the Mike Flanagan special).
Look at that plate coverage!
And the post game meal at Meatheads, of course...
