Big Boy Bed!
It's almost been a week now since we moved Luke into his new room and queen(!) sized bed. He's done remarkably well! We expected a transition period but it's literally gone off without a hitch. He cried for maybe five minutes the first night, but after that he hasn't take one look at his crib. Here are few pics I took after his nap today.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! We're having an amazingly beautiful day today, so we were out all morning celebrating. First we hit the park for our playgroup meeting. I brought my camera so I could test out some of the new tricks that I learned in my photo class over the weekend. Unfortunately having a toddler as your subject is not the easiest way to learn how to take pictures! But I got some fun ones. After the playground we headed to an Irish bar for lunch, which was CRAZY busy, but the boys held up well and we enjoyed some corned beef sandwiches. Expecting a long nap today!

60s and Sunny!
We had a BEAUTIFUL afternoon today. Luke and I took advantage and spent lots of time outside.
I finally caught a smile!
He tried to make a run for it, as usual. Looking forward to getting a fence installed so we don't have to chase him all over the neighborhood.
A little breeze got ahold of his hair!
Plotting his next escape...

Me and Me Brudder
Luke is super excited to announce that he is going to have a baby BROTHER in July! We found out last week... Daddy was shocked that the Chinese birth chart failed him but Mommy knew it was going to be a boy. Needless to say we are all looking foward to the chaos that two boys will bring to our home.

Russell Visit
Grandma and Poppa Russell just left this morning after an eventful visit. There was LOTS of playing and horsing around. I've never seen Luke so worked up! We're hoping for a LONG nap this afternoon. Of course we were both sad to see them go. We had so much fun...
Here's Luke and Poppa sporting their Sesame Street shirts and getting ready for a ball game.

Poor Missy, once again, received FAR more attention than she wanted. I'm sure she was very happy to be going home.

"Cake, cake, cake" was all we heard at dinner every night.

Saying "bye-bye" just before G&P hit the road.

2 Year Appointment
We had an extremely busy post-birthday week, including Luke's 2 year appointment on Tuesday. WOW what a nightmere that was! The minute the nurses called his name he got upset and it escalated once the exam started. So, his measurements are probably a little off since it was a wrestling match, but he weighed in at 30.4 lbs. (76%) and height 37.5" (99%). Needless to say he's a big boy! Here he is sporting his favorite Dominick's grocery stickers.

Super Bowl Birthday
Luke turned 2 years old today on Super Bowl Sunday! Great-Grandma Mansfield, Grandma German, Great-Aunt Karen and Aunt Sissy all came over for lunch to celebrate. Grandma and Grandpa Russell and Aunt Kimberly joined the fun later thanks to Skype.
Here are a couple of pictures of Luke with the football cake Big Momma made for him. He actually tried to blow out the candles and said the word "cake" for the first time! Nice timing Luke.

Luke made out pretty well as far as birthday presents go. Here he is sitting on his new Jayhawks bean bag chair from Aunt Sissy (which Daddy will probably get a little use out of as well) while playing with his latch board game from Tom and Julie.

Mommy and Daddy gave Luke a Cozy Coupe for his birthday. While he hasn't quite figured out how to move around in it, he loves getting in and out of his new little car.

Big Shoes to Fill
Luke has recently taken a liking to walking around in my shoes. He doesn't move very fast in them (neither do I), but he can muster a few strong steps until...
...one gets caught in front of the other and down he goes...
One day he'll be wearing much bigger shoes than I do with that future 6'11 frame of his.
