Great Grandma's House

We took a trip to Great Grandma's house last Sunday and saw Great Aunt Karen and Aunt Kimberly. Luke had a great time exploring the house and getting into anything he could (but probably shouldn't). He eventually settled on some blocks (that I used to play with when I was a kid), plastic Easter eggs (hey, why not?), and Great Aunt Karen's cell phone (he's hooked on cell phones like Mommy is).

New Discovery

Luke has recently discovered his belly button. Oh what fun he has showing it off!

Hangin' Out

Baby Steps

Over the past few days Luke has decided he's big enough to walk rather than crawl down the stairs. The only problem is that he isn't big enough. Last night he took a tumble down the family room stairs as he made his latest attempt at this feat and received a shiner above his right eye for his troubles.



But we put a little ice on it and afterwards...


He was all smiles...

Stressful!

Who would have thought that eating a popsicle could be so stressful? Well, it must not have been that bad because he ate the whole thing!

So Thankful

As Kevin and I sat by the fire drinking wine, making smores and watching the fireworks across the lake, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for this beautiful place that Grandma and Poppa Cushing left for us. I certainly hope that Luke grows to love it as we do - he will be spending a lot of time here!

Lake Time

The jet ski was a huge hit with the group. Kevin bought a tube and the guys each took turns riding it. At one point all three of them somehow ended up in the water. I attempted to ski... WAY to hard to do behind the jet ski. Or perhaps I'm just terribly out of shape. The Yoos took a family ride - Emma got a real kick out of that! And finally, Luke wasn't too crazy about his tube. But he was certainly more aggressive with the water this time. He would just prance right in there and start picking up rocks. It will be interesting to see what he does when we go back in two weeks.

4th of July '09

We returned last night from a great 4th up at the lake. This year we had our friends, the Yoos and Edens, join us. What fun Luke had with their girls! Here they are teasing him while he was eating lunch...
