Family of Five
Last weekend we got to babysit Joey for a few days while Sarah and Nate had a little getaway. What an angel he was! Seriously, I have never been around a more laid-back child. In fact, he was the easiest of the three to take care of! But the boys where actually quite helpful. Luke, especially, was great with Joey - playing with him, feeding him, and making sure he didn't get into anything. It was so sweet to watch.

Go Cubs!
Second season of t-ball has begun! And we are lucky to once again be the Cubs (our coach has connections - ha!). Luke has become completely engrossed in baseball, much to Daddy's delight. His favorite pastime is sketching the various MLB logos. It's crazy how focused he is on his drawings. Last weekend he spent the entire afternoon filling up our driveway with chalk renditions. It was quite impressive!

All I want Christmas...
Luke lost both of his front teeth within a few days of each other - the first while we were at the Smokies and the second the day we got back. He looks so incredibly cute. It actually makes him look a little bit younger to me, which I'm loving, because I know when the adult teeth come him he'll look SO grown up :(.

Happy Easter! (a month late)
Kevin and I have really been slacking with the blog lately. It's unbelievable how quickly the time is passing us by these days... The boys are already in their last week of preschool and enrichment! Before we know it, summer will be here. Here are some photos of our handsome boys at an Easter / Birthday Celebration we went to at my friend Adrienne's home. And of course they had a ball decorating eggs. Luke got quite into it, of course.

Mother's Day Tea
Here are some photos from the Mother's Day Tea we had at Weston's preschool last week. As you will see in the videos, he's come a long way since his Christmas performance. He was still quite nervous, but he did a great job of participating. He also made me a beautiful crown and necklace that he was very proud of. I've been wearing them off and on since the party and he tells me I look like a princess when I have the crown on. So sweet!

The Great Smokies
We took our first family trip in the minivan over spring break to see the Mammoth Cave and the Great Smoky Mountains. We had a great time - we'll definitely be making that trip again someday.
Our first stop was in Louisville - we spent the night downtown and visited the Louisville Slugger museum and factory. We also had a drink at the Louisville Bats ballpark (minor league) and ate dinner at a really good BBQ restaurant (the name escapes me at the moment).

Pork rinds, bacon, and ice cream? Why not? |
One of Weston's favorite things to do was sit next to the window in the Louisville Hotel |
Next stop was Mammoth Cave the following morning. The boys did really well in the cave - we were worried they might freak out a little bit, but they were good little spelunkers.
After Mammoth Cave, we drove straight to our cabin in the Smokies - it was a long day, but well worth the drive.
The Great Smoky Germans! |

Our view from the cabin |
The boys loved hitting the hot tub (as did we) after a long day of exploring |
Our little climbers |
This is one crazy family |
Mountain climbers! |
Weston was obsessed with having a picnic, so we found a nice quiet spot on the west side of the smokies, picked up some local BBQ and had a picnic! |
Weston, being Weston. Not pictured - Mommy hiding behind the rock in case Weston fell off - of course. |
Scratch North Carolina off our lists! |
We also hiked the Appalachian Trail....for about 2 steps. |
Naked Donkey Kong anyone? |
Luke's journal of the trip - the boys each have a National Park Passport booklet - we have a goal to get to as many parks as we can |
