Cubs Game

We attended a Cubs game with Grandma G last Wednesday and had a great time. Luke lasted 5 innings (plus an hour before the game), which is pretty impressive considering the game started 20 minutes after his normal nap time.

Here is Luke getting ready for the game by sharing a hot dog with Grandma...

And here he is praying for a Cubs victory...

And the inevitable disappointment...

Until we made up for it with a sucker...

Baby G2's First Game

Baby G2 attended his first Cubs game (in utero) on Monday night via a rooftop across the street. We had a great night, going to dinner at Tengo Sur with Aunt Sissy and taking a quick walk through Erin's old neighborhood. The Cubs, however, didn't cooperate as they lost to the lowly Pirates.

Haircut with Grandma G

We took Luke to get his haircut last week, and he did really well. Having Elmo on the TV sure didn't hurt. Afterwards, we took him to Firehouse Subs in Wheaton for lunch and he loved every minute of it...

New Hat

Grandma G showed up last weekend with a new hat for Luke, and it looks pretty darn good on him. Watch out ladies...

Summer Fun

Luke has been having so much fun this summer so far - hard to believe it's already the middle of June. He loves blowing bubbles and playing with the new "star" as he calls it - a big pinwheel that Aunt Chrissy sent all the way from London! I also got a few pics before he started "camp" yesterday, which is actually just an hour and a half of playtime at the park district so Mommy can rest and get some things done before Baby Brother arrives in a month (or less!).

Rain Out

We got rained out on our walk around the neighborhood this afternoon and Luke wasn't too happy about it.

And earlier in the day, we caught him trying to break into the neighbor's house...

Luke and His Three Balls

It's pretty rare to find Luke without a ball in his hands, but this is
just ridiculous.

Dairy Farm Picnic

Sarah's boyfriend Nate, who works on a dairy farm, invited us to their annual picnic. We had a wonderful time! It was an amazing set up - tons of food and drinks, all kinds of fun stuff for the kids, and of course, lots of cows! Luke definitely enjoyed the unlimited supply of ice cream and looking at the cows the most. He had so much fun that he fell asleep instantly once we got in the car, then proceeded to throw up multiple times before bed. He partied hard!

Just like Daddy, Luke has given up on the Cubs this year. Thanks for
the shirt, KK!

Memorial Day Weekend

We headed up to the lake for the long weekend. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a disaster! Luke became with sick with croup the day we drove up, so Wednesday and Thursday nights we were up half the night. Took him to urgent care on Friday where he got a steroid shot. That helped a TON but he still wasn't feeling great and was pretty crabby. Then we had trouble with the water and Mommmy started turning orange. And to top things off, Daddy broke the hammock. Sooo... We ended up coming home early, which we were very sad about. Oh well, better luck next summer.

Dancing with Luke

Luke has taken a liking to Dancing with the Stars (especially when Erin Andrews is dancing), so I couldn't help but get a quick recording of him dancing to the music on our bed. Please excuse the condition of our room...

Help Yourself!

Luke may not look much like a Russell, but he certainly has the eating habits of a Russell! Today while I was in the bathroom he decided to help himself to some ice cream - got it out of the freezer and a spoon out of the drawer all on his own. When I walked out, there he was, sitting on the floor eating right out of the container. Reminded me an awful lot of Poppa at that moment!
