First Day of PDO
Our baby boy had his first day of PDO today... As you can see he was not especially excited. When I gave him his backpack and got out the camera he freaked out! The second photo is him throwing the backpack on the floor! Once we got there, however, he was fine. He even waved goodbye to me as I left - no tears! And when I picked him up, oh my gosh it was SO cute... He came running (limping) out the door with the hugest happiest smile I have ever seen, then proceeded to tell me all about his day (in his own words!). I think Weston is going to really enjoy PDO. Hopefully it will help his speech as well.

First Day of 4+ Preschool
Today was a big day... Luke started his 4+ preschool class at the park district. He put on quite the show while I took pictures, which you'll see below. And of course Weston was cracking up the whole time, egging him on! We are excited for this new school for several reasons, a big one being that Luke can ride his bike there while the weather is nice. It is also four afternoons a week, giving Luke plenty of fun and activity while Weston is at home napping (and maybe Mommy too!). Oh, and did I mention it's ALL BOYS??? Those poor teachers. Unfortunately the drop off was a little rough - Luke does have a flair for the dramatic - but at pick up he was happy as a clam.

Soccer Practice
I'm officially a Soccer Mom! Luke had his first soccer practice last night. He's actually in a league where they have practices on Tuesday nights and games on Saturday mornings. I can't believe we are already entering this phase of parenthood. But I think Kevin and I are both pretty excited for it. Here are some pics... The other boy is his buddy Max.
Our first CAST!
We have had quite the week already! Sunday night Luke and Weston were playing/wrestling and somehow Weston fractured his leg! It was so bizarre - you never would have thought anything this major had happened. We went to the doctor on Monday morning, got x-rays, and sure enough, had to get a cast on Tuesday morning. But I tell you, he's taking it like a champ. He's probably the least traumatized of all of us! So happy and smiley. And he's already started crawling with the cast. They say he will be able to walk at some point, but I'll have to see it to believe it. They had to put the cast above his knee to prevent him from removing it, so his leg is always at an angle. He has to wear the cast for four weeks and NO BATHS. Gross! I imagine by that fourth week we will be begging for them to remove it.

Weston's 2 Year Appointment
Weston had his two-year appointment last week. It was wild! I had to take Luke with us and the boys put on quite the show. I was laughing because the doctor just sat there while I was up and down, and up, and down. Picking one boy up, putting one boy down. It was hilarious. Of course Weston is doing great. Weighed in at 28 lbs. 4 oz. (49.68%) and height was 36.25" (86.61%). We discussed his lack of speech and the doctor said we are taking the right steps by doing therapy through Early Intervention, but he said we will probably be looking back and laughing two years from now! I certainly hope so!

Daddy and Luke Day
Luke and I had a great day last Friday. I brought him to work with me in the morning (where he charmed all of the ladies), then we were off to the Cubs game in the afternoon. I'm pretty sure it was the first time we actually stayed past the 7th inning stretch. We both loved every minute of it. We finished the day off with a little ice cream from Anthony's on Southport.
One of the cool things about these pictures is the jacket Luke is wearing is actually one of my old jackets I used to wear when I was his age. Goey kept it all these years and Luke can finally wear it (although it's still a little big on him).

Family Cubs Game
Last week we all took a trip downtown to take Weston to his FIRST Cubs game. We had such a great time! Weston did wonderfully... He managed to stay entertained walking between the seats and being silly. Luke loved it as well. The noise didn't seem to bother anyone this time. We stayed for about 4 innings which we thought was pretty impressive. Then we took a walk around Mommy's old neighborhood. But the highlight of the day for Weston was probably the banana split he shared with Daddy at Dairy Queen.
